File Tips
No Bleeds
To prevent any text or images from falling in the hem line or grommet area, please keep the image and text at least 2″ away from the edge.
Convert all fonts to outlines and flatten files from Photoshop.
All jobs are printed in 4-Color CKMY. We cannot print PMS colors.
Files should be press ready. We look over every file to make sure it meets our guildlines before we sent to print. If we do run into any problems with your file we will call or email you.
If you have the time and need a color sample, we will print a 1 Sq Ft color sample on the material requested. Color samples are $35.00 a sample.
If you are providing graphics or designing your own banner, you can either use vector graphics or pixel-based graphics. Many people like to include JPG logos or photos, which are pixel-based, so it’s important to provide the highest resolution files possible. A good target is 100 dpi (dots per inch) at full size.
Let’s say you have a photo that is 3000 x 2000 pixels. In order to stay at the minimum 100 dpi resolution, just take the number of pixels and divide by 100. That gives you 30 by 20 inches at the largest. You can print a banner that size, but most are bigger.
So if you’re taking digital photos, make sure your camera is set to the highest quality possible. Most are set to medium resolution by default because that makes the files smaller. If you’re designing a new banner in a program like Photoshop, making the banner full size and 100 to 300 dpi will provide good resolution so the actual banner prints out without being pixelated.

Vinyl is a good multipurpose material for banners. They can hang safely in or outdoors, and can be rolled up for storage. Vinyl is a sturdy material that with proper care, will last many years of use.
Mesh banners are similar to material used in sports jerseys and are intended for outdoor use. They are much lighter weight than regular vinyl banners and are great for windy applications as holes in the material allow for air passage.
Our special trade show banners are made of PVC vinyl. A special flat light-blocking layer is coated in smooth vinyl, which makes the banners extra-smooth and gives them a leather-like feel. The banners have a beautiful anti-glare magazine finish, so compared to a regular vinyl banner they are much nicer for up-close viewing. Trade show banners offer higher resolution than vinyl banners. They are thicker and heavier than regular vinyl, this weight makes them ideal for displaying on banner stands as they unroll quickly.
Lay the banner on a flat surface. Using a smooth cloth and warm water, gently clean the banner in sections using a circular motion. When finished, leave the banner out to dry thoroughly. Never store a wet banner, as this can damage the ink or cause mildew.
It’s best to clean your banner every few months if it hangs outside, and every time you are getting ready to store it. Keeping the banner clean will help it last longer.
Roll up each banner individually, or put newsprint between banners if rolling several together to avoid the grommets on one banner from scratching the print on another. Never fold a banner. Folding will lead to creases.
Store the banner in a tube. Once rolled banner, put it inside the original shipping carton, or large tube. Storing the banner upright will ensure your banner won’t crease or damaged.
Avoid storing your banner in very hot or very cold areas, such as a car trunk or storage unit for long periods. Room temperature is best for prolonging the life of the ink and the banner itself.
